Busy summer days!
Wow! It’s already mid-July. Summer is flying by! I wish I could say I have done a lot, but it doesn’t seem so. That’s okay, though, I still have half the summer to go. Plus, I am a fall season fan and I can not wait! Changing leaves, warm beverages, windy days, sign me up!

Yesterday was Amazon’s Prime Day and boy were there a lot of deals. I hate to admit it, but I did spend more time than I should have looking through page after page of stuff I wasn’t going to buy. I sent out this tweet about how I was considering buying an Instant Pot. My husband read it and tried to surprise me by buying it. However, I went to show my mom what an Instant Pot was and saw it was purchased. I am so excited. He heard that they can make cheesecake, so I’m sure that was also part of his plan. 🙂
Work, work, work
Like so many other people, I get so nervous when I have to present or speak in front of people, especially strangers. I always admire folks that make it seem so easy. Well today I had to do just that. I applied for a new job and did a group interview. It was unlike anything else I have ever experienced. The first thing they had all of us do (all 6 of us) was stand and introduce ourselves and explain why we wanted to work for that company. Put. On. Spot. Instantly. The lady next to me volunteered to go first, which meant I had to go second. After that, and a powerpoint presentation, we had interviews with different department managers. The strength/weakness question came and I did use speaking in front of people as a weakness. I always feel like I just do not excel at interviews. Time will tell. Finger crossed. I’ll update you once I know!
A side thought: I should look into receiving some sort of coaching on interviews/public speaking. I hope that this is the last interview for a long time, but being able to feel more comfortable public speaking would be a good thing to have.
So I am still using the free trial to Tailwind. It’s very handy, if I remember to use it! I am going to be honest, Pinterest is not my strong suit. I’m slowly learning how to maximize it. If you haven’t had a chance, head over there and follow me! After the free trial, I will do an official review of how it benefitted me!
As I mentioned above, I will soon be the owner of a brand new Instant Pot. I plan on creating recipes for the Instant Pot to add to my other recipes. As a working mom, I love easy recipes that I can pre-plan and that are easy/quick to prepare. I’m excited to see all the yummy food I can make in it!
I am in the process of completing my first blog report. I want to document stats, income (when applicable), and goals. Check back for this update! I also have a few more recipes to post and a budget sheet to complete and post. Luckily, I have a few days off this weekend and hope to update my blog more!
I recently added a popup for my mailing list on the blog. What did you think? I always appreciate feedback. Comment below or send me a message.
I should go walk my dog before more storms hit. In Kalamazoo it is so humid today with a chance of severe weather. I’ll keep dreaming of fall weather!
